We often hear that we are children of God, but do we take time to truly contemplate what that means? In the following ketamine treatment, I experienced profoundly what it means to be a child of God.

Intention: show me what I can learn from my challenges.
The overall impression I had was what it truly means to be a child of God. One part of being a child of God is being loved as a child. It is impossible to comprehend how God can love us all as parents usually love a child when God has so many children. However, I experienced that with God’s all powerful and all-knowing ability, it is possible. In fact, he truly does love each of us even more deeply and more perfectly than our own parents love us and more than we love our own children. We are so incredibly precious to him. This was really driven home.
The other part is how important we are as children of God. In my experience, I saw how important children of nobility were considered. Then, children of a king were even more important. However, the children of God are so much more important than the children of a king. As children of God, we are immeasurably important.
I also experienced the importance of treating each other as children of God. We must treat each other as precious and important, knowing that each soul is treasured by God.
Later, as I am pondering my experience, I recognize that suffering by no means indicates that we are not loved by God. It can seem that way because God could stop the pain. However, he knows the dire consequences of protecting us from all suffering. We truly do need it. So, suffering is actually a sign of God‘s love for us.
