One thing that I found helps me when I am down and struggling is to focus on my happiest memories. I encourage you to spend time regularly enjoying good memories. Also, it is important to engage in activities that bring the spirit into our lives. These two things can make a world of difference, especially when life is challenging.
Here is a ketamine journal entry on that topic.
7/31/25
Intention: show me how to serve others better.
I remember feeling like I was in hell, and I was praying and exercising faith in Jesus Christ. Then, I remember kissing his big toe.
I remember being in a woven swing and swinging. I thought about how much I love swings, and in my heaven, I would have a swing. I thought about one of the happiest times of my life when I was lying on an inflatable toy on the beach at Yuba Lake. The wind was blowing over me and the sun was warming me. I was so comfortable, and I could hear my children playing happily. Then, the swing and the beach experiences mixed, and I was having a heavenly experience.
I experienced the spirit being like waves ebbing and flowing. I noticed it wasn’t so much like the spirit is either with us or not with us. It is more to what degree the spirit is with us. It is important to notice when the spirit leaves us to some degree, and when the spirit is really strong. Also, the spirit washes over us and through us.
~ Spend time remembering the happiest times of my life.
~ Pay attention to how much I am feeling the spirit.
To me, something that would take swinging a step further would be to go hang gliding. I had a dream one time that I was hanging gliding and I loved it. I would love to make that dream come true.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Remembering the good memories can be very uplifting. And in the hard times, I have also found great peace and encouragement in the truth that God’s Holy Spirit NEVER leaves us to any degree, whether we FEEL Him or not.
Joshua 1:9 “be of good courage, do not be discouraged for I am with you wherever you go”.
John 14:16- “He will be with you and in you…”
Faith is believing He is with you ( cuz His Word says so) always, even when you don’t feel Him. Even when you sin.
As soon as you believe in Jesus ALONE for salvation ( this is different than just believing in Jesus, then trying to keep the laws or earn your way), then the Spirit comes IN and dwells IN you always.
So encouraging!
Then you are sealed by the Holy Spirit til the day of redemption ( Eph 1:13). REST in Jesus. His burden is light.
It has taken me 7 years to finally receive salvation in Jesus alone! I am at peace and rest knowing I will live in His Kingdom forever, no matter what! This is the Good News! Praise God for His plan of Salvation!
I love you!
